  1. TMailLabel Component
  2.  
  3. Introduction:
  4.    The TMailLabel Component gives the developer the ability to easily set-up a mail 
  5.    label printing function for their programs.  Features include the following:
  6.  
  7. Multiple DataSource Links - Using TFieldLinks, an included (but un-published) 
  8.    component, the developer can pull data from various data sources on the same form.
  9.  
  10. Label Preview - The TMailLabel Component is a visible component, with scrolling to 
  11.    allow the user a view of one page's worth of mail labels on screen.
  12.  
  13. Label Definition - Using the TLabelDefinition, another included and un-published component, 
  14.    the developer may set a default mail label definition, or allow the user to set the label 
  15.    definition.  Included is the Label Definition Dialog, a dialog that allows for easy label 
  16.    definition.  Also, a database with several labels pre-defined is included and accessible 
  17.    from the Label Definition Dialog.

  19. Installation:
  20. Installation is easily accomplished using the following steps:
  21. 1) Unzip the contents of this zip file into the directory of your choice.
  22. 2) Copy the MAILLABL.HLP file to your Delphi\Bin directory.
  23. 3) Copy the MAILLABL.KWF file to your Delphi\Help directory.
  24. 4) With Delphi closed, use the HelpInst program to install the MAILLABL.KWF 
  25.    into your DELPHI.HDX file.  Note: DELPHI.HDX is usually found in your Delphi\Bin 
  26.    directory.
  27. 5) With Delphi open, install the control using the MAILLABL.DCU file.  This file contains
  28.    the registration statement for all of the other components included with the TMailLabel 
  29.    system.
  30. 6) Included with this package is a demo project.  You will need to adjust the 
  31.    PreDefLabelDBName property to point to the directory containing the LABELDEF.DB and 
  32.    LABELDEF.PX files (these files are included in the TMailLabel package and contain the
  33.    pre-defined labels).

  36. Shareware Registration:
  37.    First, let me thank-you for having even read this far.  Now, for the gory stuff.  
  38.    There are currently planned three levels of support for this product, each according 
  39.    to the amount you decide to pay.
  40.  
  41. 1. I'll use it for free! - Yeah, you can do this.  The shareware version puts a little 
  42.    notice at the bottom of each label, but a really clever developer could probably 
  43.    figure out how to get around it, but that would cost more in time than the money I'm 
  44.    asking for registration.

  46. 2. Basic Registration - You get to use this thing as much as you want, no strings attached 
  47.    (ie. no little shareware notice at the bottom of each label).  You also get free upgrades 
  48.    for a year (and the next version will be out mid to late '96 - more features to come!). 
  49.    So what's the catch?  Well, you won't get the source code, and without that, you can't 
  50.    incorporate the un-published components (TFieldLink and TLabelDefinition) into your own 
  51.    components.

  55. 3. I really want to use it!! - Ahhh.  You have come to the decision to get the most bang 
  56.    for the buck!  You now get all of the stuff that the Basic Registration guys get, plus 
  57.    you get the source code.  Allowing you to peek into the warped mind that wrote this 
  58.    component, and giving you the ability to make use of the un-published components.  In 
  59.    addition, you will receive a printed outline of the entire TMailLabel system, including 
  60.    the un-documented/un-published properties and components.
